Over the weekend, share your discussion questions with your partner(s) via email, Facebook, messaging, etc. Have a conversation about the discussion questions. You can stray from the questions as long as you continue discussing the book. The questions are prompts to get the conversation going. If you find anything interesting or puzzling, funny or sad, share it with your partner!
Have one group member print out the discussion and bring it to class. Aim for about 100 words per person in the group. More is always welcome and encouraged.
Also – if you have missed any class, make sure that you hand in the in-class assignment from Monday 1/30. This consisted of a written page, single-spaced, answering two prompts:
Who is Sandra Cisneros? What is she like as a person?
What do you expect from this book? What do you think it will be like?
If you missed the day when I asked you questions about yourself, take a few minutes this weekend to write down the following:
What are you reading now? Remember that anything is a text.
What are some of your favorite books you have read in English class? Outside of English class?
What types of texts would you like to read in English class?
What music are you listening to these days?
What are some of your favorite artists, albums, or songs?
Other interests? Activities? Personality traits? Who are you?
